Japanese developer enish has officially announced Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Frontier Zero, a new game based on the popular DanMachi anime and light novel franchise. The game is scheduled for a global release in 2027 on PC, Android, and iOS.
The announcement marks another expansion of the DanMachi franchise into the gaming industry. However, details remain limited, with the developer yet to reveal gameplay footage, screenshots, or further information about its release plans.
Frontier Zero to Feature an Original Story
One of the key details confirmed so far is that DanMachi: Frontier Zero will feature an original story developed in collaboration with Fujino Omori, the author of the original light novel series.
Omori’s direct involvement means the game will introduce a new narrative created specifically for this project, distinguishing it from previous mobile games based on the franchise.
At present, the developers have not disclosed the story’s setting, which characters will appear, or how the new narrative will connect to the main storyline of the anime and light novels. Details about the game’s combat system, progression mechanics, and other gameplay features also remain unknown.
More information is expected to be revealed through the game’s official social media accounts as development progresses.
Another Gaming Project for the DanMachi Franchise
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, commonly known as DanMachi, follows Bell Cranel, a young adventurer seeking to become stronger in the city of Orario. Guided by the goddess Hestia, Bell explores dangerous dungeons while building relationships with fellow adventurers and confronting increasingly powerful enemies.
The franchise has previously inspired several games, including mobile titles that expand on its fantasy setting and characters. Frontier Zero aims to offer a fresh story within the established universe, although its precise relationship with earlier game adaptations has not yet been clarified.
Enish Handles Development
The game is being developed by enish, a Japanese company with experience working on projects based on established entertainment franchises. Its previous titles include Attack on Titan: Brave Order and the paid casual game Laid-Back Camp: Camping Cook-Off!.
With a global launch planned for 2027, DanMachi: Frontier Zero could offer fans another way to experience the franchise beyond its anime and light novels. Further details about its gameplay, characters, and monetization model have yet to be announced.
