Game Freak has announced that Beast of Reincarnation will end its current phase of major post-launch updates, just two months after the RPG’s release. In a social media announcement published on October 16, the studio confirmed that the next patch, scheduled for October 19, will mark the end of its frequent update cycle.
The developer, best known for its work on the Pokémon franchise, thanked players for their continued support and feedback since the game’s launch. However, Game Freak has not yet revealed the specific changes included in the upcoming patch.
Although regular major updates are coming to an end, the studio clarified that players can still submit feedback and report technical problems through the game’s official support website.
Previous Updates Focused on Gameplay Improvements
The decision follows several post-launch patches intended to improve the overall experience. The most recent update before the announcement, version 1.1.01, arrived on October 9 with several quality-of-life improvements.
One notable addition was a story progression option that allows players to skip three areas and reach the Capital sooner. This feature provides a more direct route through the adventure for players who want to advance the story without completing those sections.
The update also introduced a field-of-view setting for the PC version, adjusted the pacing of cutscenes, and fixed various technical issues.
Despite these efforts, Beast of Reincarnation has received a mixed response from players. Some criticism has focused on its combat mechanics and storytelling, although Game Freak has not identified these concerns as the reason behind its decision to end frequent updates.
Further Updates Have Not Been Ruled Out
While October 19 will mark the end of the game’s current major update phase, it does not necessarily mean that development support will stop entirely.
Game Freak has indicated that remaining major concerns could still be addressed in the upcoming patch or a later update. However, the studio has not confirmed whether additional patches will arrive or provided a schedule for any future improvements.
For now, players will have to wait for the October 19 patch to learn which issues, if any, receive further attention.
Beast of Reincarnation is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The upcoming update will mark an important transition in the game’s post-launch support, although the possibility of future fixes remains open.
