Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 “Edgerunners II” Adds New Quest, Dual-Wielding, and Mod Support

CD Projekt RED has announced the details of Cyberpunk 2077 version 2.5, titled “Edgerunners II.” The update launches on October 22, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version scheduled to follow in the days afterward.

The update introduces new content inspired by the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, alongside additional customization options, combat abilities, technical improvements, and cross-platform mod support.

New Edgerunners Content and Radio Station

One of the major additions is “Clampdown,” a new side quest that becomes available after players complete “The Heist” and two gigs for Wakako, followed by waiting for a message from her.

Completing the quest also allows players to obtain a new five-piece gear set inspired by King, a character associated with the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners universe. Meanwhile, the new HKGN 102.0 FM radio station adds a selection of tracks from the anime series, giving players more music to enjoy while exploring Night City.

The update also expands the game’s fashion options. Five new outfit sets will be available for purchase from selected clothing vendors, with an additional set planned for release later.

Dual-Wielding Comes to Combat

Version 2.5 introduces Double Trouble, a new perk in the Cool skill tree, alongside four auxiliary perks that allow players to dual-wield Power-category Pistols and Revolvers.

Photo Mode also receives new features, including frames inspired by the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game and poses specifically designed for characters wielding two firearms.

These additions give players more ways to customize combat builds and capture their characters in action.

Cross-Platform Mod Support Arrives

Another significant feature is Cross-Platform Mod Support, powered by mod.io. The system allows players to browse and install a selection of community-created mods directly through the in-game menu.

The feature is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, with additional mods expected to become available over time.

Technical Improvements and Bug Fixes

The update also introduces DLSS 4.5 support, glasses-free 3D functionality on compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors, MetalFX Frame Interpolation and Denoising on Mac, and improved HDR rendering.

AMD FSR 3 upscaling has been removed, while FSR 2.1, FSR 4, and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation remain available.

Several issues are also addressed, including a Nintendo Switch 2 save error, HDR settings problems on PlayStation 5, the Film Grain setting, a Delamain cab getting stuck during “Things Done Changed,” and missing Third-Person Camera controller settings.

With new anime-inspired content, expanded combat options, and integrated mod support, Cyberpunk 2077 version 2.5 delivers another substantial update for players returning to Night City.
