Arc System Works has announced the establishment of Arc System Works Tokyo Studio “Takumi,” a new development studio scheduled to open on November 2, 2026. Located at Urban Center Shinjuku in Tokyo, Japan, the studio aims to significantly expand the company’s development capabilities and support the creation of new games for audiences worldwide.
The new studio represents part of Arc System Works’ broader strategy to strengthen its production capacity and develop titles with international appeal. Known for its fighting game franchises, the company intends to use Studio Takumi as a strategic base for expanding its creative operations and collaborating on projects aimed at the global market.
One of the projects expected to receive support from the new studio is an upcoming fighting game selected for Japan’s IP360 program, an initiative operated by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).
The IP360 program provides substantial, long-term support to help Japanese content reach a wider international audience. Its broader objective is to increase overseas sales of Japanese content to ¥20 trillion by 2033.
Through Studio Takumi, Arc System Works aims to contribute to this initiative by developing games capable of attracting players beyond Japan. However, the company has not yet revealed the title, gameplay details, or potential release window of the fighting game associated with the program.
