Yumene Connect Manga Continues Its Serialization
Written and illustrated by Ko Sawada, Yumene Connect began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in September 2024. The manga has since reached nine published volumes, with its 10th volume scheduled for release on October 16, 2026.
The upcoming anime adaptation is set to bring the manga’s blend of school life, comedy, and extraterrestrial encounters to the screen.
A High School Student Meets an Alien
Yumene Connect follows Yuhi Takamiya, a first-year high school student whose plans for the beginning of school take an unexpected turn. After suddenly falling ill, Yuhi misses his entire first week of classes, leaving him worried that he will struggle to make friends and fit in with his new classmates.
When an alien named Nano hears about Yuhi’s predicament, Nano arrives with the intention of helping him. However, this unusual encounter soon changes Yuhi’s everyday life in ways he could never have anticipated.
Nano eventually moves into Yuhi’s home, bringing another alien lifeform named Nyoru Puppu Panpippi along as well. Their arrival sets the stage for a story filled with unexpected interactions as Yuhi navigates high school life alongside his new extraterrestrial companions.
With its teaser trailer and main production details now revealed, Yumene Connect is taking its first step toward bringing Ko Sawada’s manga to anime audiences. Fans can look forward to more information about the adaptation as the project develops.
