The manga Wistoria: Wand and Sword still has a long journey ahead. According to the series creator Fujino Omori, the story has officially reached only the midpoint of its planned narrative.
At the same time, the anime adaptation of the series is continuing its run. Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on April 12, bringing fans back into the fantasy world filled with magic, battles, and powerful mysteries.
A World Protected by the Wizard’s Tower
The story of Wistoria: Wand and Sword takes place in a world that was once nearly destroyed by powerful enemies known as the Celestial Hosts. These devastating forces were eventually sealed away by five legendary mages, who used the immense power of the Wizard’s Tower to protect humanity.
In the present day, the strongest sorcerers guard the tower to ensure that the seal remains intact and the world stays safe from the ancient threat.
A Magic Student Who Cannot Use Magic
The story follows a student at a prestigious magic academy who dreams of reaching the Wizard’s Tower, just like his childhood friend who has already become one of its guardians.
However, there is one major problem: he cannot use magic at all.
Instead of relying on spells like the other students, he depends entirely on physical strength and swordsmanship. Despite the disadvantage, he refuses to give up on the promise he once made—to climb the Wizard’s Tower together with his friend.
From the Author of DanMachi
An interesting fact about the series is that its creator, Fujino Omori, is also the author behind the popular fantasy series Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, widely known by fans as DanMachi.
With the story only halfway complete, fans can expect many more developments in the world, characters, and major conflicts as the manga continues and the anime adaptation moves forward.
