Crunchyroll has announced plans to bring Girls Band Cry THE MOVIE to theaters in North America in 2027. The upcoming theatrical release will give fans outside Japan an opportunity to experience the animated film on the big screen, although specific release dates and participating regions have yet to be confirmed.
The movie continues the story of Girls Band Cry, the original anime series produced by Toei Animation. The television series aired for 13 episodes, following Nina Iseri and the members of Togenashi Togeari as they navigate the challenges of pursuing their musical dreams.
Girls Band Cry THE MOVIE is expected to continue the anime’s story, offering fans another opportunity to follow the band’s journey. Crunchyroll’s involvement marks an important step in bringing the film to international audiences through theatrical distribution.
Earlier, Girls Band Cry received two compilation films in Japanese theaters: Girls Band Cry: Seishun Kyoso Kyoku, which premiered on October 3, 2025, and Girls Band Cry: Naa, Mirai, which followed on November 14, 2025.
While Crunchyroll has announced plans for the film’s North American theatrical release in 2027, further details—including the exact release date, participating theaters, and availability in other territories—have yet to be confirmed. Fans can look forward to additional announcements from Crunchyroll and the production team as the release approaches.
