To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Persona series, Aniplex of America has announced that PERSONA 4 the ANIMATION and Persona4 the Golden ANIMATION are now available to watch on its official YouTube channel for a limited time.
The special streaming event gives both longtime fans and newcomers the opportunity to revisit the beloved anime adaptations based on one of Atlus’ most acclaimed role-playing games. The episodes are available beginning today, though the company has not disclosed how long they will remain on the platform.
Originally adapted from Persona 4, the anime follows a group of high school students who uncover a mysterious world hidden inside televisions while investigating a series of unusual murders in the quiet rural town of Inaba. As they confront supernatural enemies known as Shadows, the team also faces personal struggles and deepens the bonds that define the story.
Persona4 the Golden ANIMATION serves as an expanded adaptation inspired by the enhanced version of the game, introducing additional scenes centered around Marie, a character first introduced in Persona 4 Golden. The series provides new perspectives on the story while complementing the events of the original anime.
The limited-time release is part of a broader celebration marking three decades of the Persona franchise, which first debuted in 1996. Throughout the anniversary campaign, fans can expect various commemorative projects, including special events, collaborations, merchandise, and digital content celebrating the history of the iconic RPG series.
