Only a few days after launching on Steam, SiNiSistar 2 — the latest metroidvania title from indie developer circle Uu — has already become a major success.
Despite being released in a more “family-friendly” all-ages version for Steam, the game still managed to sell extremely well and quickly surpassed over 1,000 user reviews while maintaining a “Very Positive” rating.
The launch became so successful that the external website used to distribute the optional restoration patch for the game’s original 18+ content reportedly went down temporarily due to overwhelming traffic from players.
The removal of explicit content was apparently an important adjustment required in order for the developers to release the game on Steam. However, the team still provided an optional patch for players who wanted access to the original adult content, which many fans consider one of the franchise’s biggest selling points.
Because of the game’s strong performance — especially within the adult game genre — many fans are now hoping the success could motivate Uu to continue the franchise with a potential third entry or even develop a completely new IP with a larger scope and higher production quality.
At the moment, the developers already appear to have built a strong audience across both DLsite and Steam, leading many players to believe future releases from the studio will likely receive strong attention as well.
For players interested in trying the game, SiNiSistar 2 is currently available on Steam for approximately $6.60 USD after receiving a 20% discount.
The promotion is scheduled to remain active until May 30. Players can also purchase the larger “Eroge Japan Ryona & Gore” bundle for approximately $45 USD, which currently includes a small additional discount.
