Hypergryph has announced that POPUCOM will launch on PlayStation 5 on November 17. The cooperative platformer was previously released on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, followed by a Nintendo Switch version in early December 2025.
The PS5 release expands the available platforms for the game, offering more players a chance to experience this hidden gem from the developer behind the Arknights franchise.
Team Up to Restore an Alien World
In POPUCOM, players take on the role of adventurers summoned to an unfamiliar planet. Working together, they must confront enemies, solve puzzles, and use various tools to help restore the world.
Cooperation is central to the experience, particularly when facing powerful opponents or challenges that require players to coordinate their actions.
One of the game’s key mechanics revolves around color. Players can change their characters’ colors and fire Pomu gel of different colors to activate mechanisms, alter the environment, and affect enemies.
The color-based shooting system is combined with match-3 mechanics, requiring players to match colors correctly to overcome obstacles and progress through each stage.
Special Artifacts and Character Customization
Throughout their adventure, players can discover Super Artifacts that provide unique abilities to help them overcome challenges. These include Rollo the Bomb, Captain Kitty, Barrier Bot, and Power Kid, each offering different ways to approach the game’s puzzles and encounters.
Outside the main gameplay, players can visit the Closet to customize their characters with various outfits and cosmetic items. The game also features an in-game arcade where players can enjoy different mini-games between exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving.
With its arrival on PS5, POPUCOM will be available to a wider audience looking for a cooperative adventure built around colorful mechanics, teamwork, and creative problem-solving.
