Anime Festival Asia (AFA) Malaysia could make its long-awaited return in 2027, ending a 14-year absence since the event was last held in 2012. The potential comeback has generated discussion among Malaysian anime fans, many of whom have expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of welcoming the convention back.
AFA Malaysia Could Return After More Than a Decade
AFA has become a familiar name among anime fans across Southeast Asia, bringing together Japanese pop culture, anime merchandise, music performances, and fan activities. A return to Malaysia would give local fans another opportunity to experience the festival without having to travel to other countries in the region.
The event was last held in Malaysia in 2012, and its possible revival in 2027 would mark a significant milestone for the local anime community.
SOZO Has Yet to Make an Official Announcement
