About Phantom Busters
Phantom Busters is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Neoshoco. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine since August 2023 and has surpassed 1.4 million copies in circulation, including digital editions. VIZ Media began publishing the manga in English in October 2025.
The story follows Mogari Shishikuno, Eugene Korekishi, and newly recruited member Kaoru Kanzaki as they search for a fourth member for their club. Their attention turns to Kotaro Tamon, a classmate who appears to have the unusual ability to communicate with ghosts.
However, Kotaro struggles with communicating with living people, creating an unexpected obstacle for the group. The story explores whether he can overcome his anxiety and join the Phantom Busters as they deal with supernatural encounters.
Combining ghost-hunting adventures with school comedy and character-driven humor, the series has attracted readers through its unusual premise and eccentric cast.
With its first teaser visual and main cast now revealed, Phantom Busters is taking another step toward its 2027 anime debut. Fans can look forward to more information about the adaptation as production continues.
