About The Eternal Fool’s Words of Wisdom
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Hifumi and illustrated by Kurihito Muto. The story was originally published on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website from January 2015 to September 2019 before Earth Star Entertainment acquired the series and released it in print. The light novel currently has 14 volumes.
A manga adaptation illustrated by Fuh Araki began serialization on Earth Star Entertainment’s Comic Earth Star website in April 2017, with 13 volumes available. J-Novel Club licenses the manga in English.
The story follows Asley, an eternally youthful sorcerer who has spent approximately 2,000 years in solitude. Despite his extraordinary magical abilities, Asley is known for his foolish behavior and questionable reputation. His longtime companion is Pochi, a powerful canine familiar who has reached Level 100.
After Pochi insists that Asley leave his hermitage and experience the outside world, the pair embark on a journey to help the sorcerer reintegrate into society. Along the way, Asley hopes to improve his reputation, test his magical abilities, and leave behind some of his less flattering titles.
Their adventure also brings opportunities to confront powerful enemies and potentially save the world. However, Asley’s progress is frequently complicated by Pochi’s blunt advice and unpredictable behavior.
With its January 2027 premiere approaching, The Eternal Fool’s Words of Wisdom: A Pawsitively Fantastic Adventure will bring the unlikely duo’s fantasy journey to television, combining powerful magic, eccentric characters, and comedy built around their unusual partnership.
