UserJoy has officially announced that the global version of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War will end service on November 30, 2026. Following the shutdown, players will no longer be able to access the game or use its online features.
Originally launched in 2024 for PC and mobile platforms, the game adapts the story of the 2023 anime series of the same name. Its narrative takes place between the events of Trails of Cold Steel II and Trails of Cold Steel III, expanding the world of Nihon Falcom’s long-running The Legend of Heroes franchise.
In-Game Purchases Already Disabled
The shutdown process has already begun. According to the announcement, all in-game top-ups and paid purchases, including transactions involving premium currency, were disabled on October 28, 2026.
However, players can still log in and access the game’s existing content and features until the official end-of-service date. This gives the remaining community a final opportunity to revisit its adventures before the servers are permanently closed.
Once November 30 arrives, the game will become inaccessible, marking the end of its global service.
Operations Team Thanks Players for Their Support
In its official announcement, the Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War operations team expressed gratitude to everyone who supported the game throughout its service.

The team described the experience as a journey filled with shared adventures and memorable moments. It also explained that the decision to discontinue the game followed careful consideration and internal discussions.
The operations team apologized for any inconvenience caused by the closure and thanked players for their companionship since the game’s launch.
Although the announcement marks the end of the game’s global version, the team encouraged players to continue creating memories with their fellow companions while the servers remain available.
With its service scheduled to conclude on November 30, 2026, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War is approaching its final chapter after approximately two years on the market.
