Destiny Child, the discontinued live-service RPG originally developed by SHIFT UP, is making a comeback with a new title. Com2uS has officially announced Destiny Child: Assemble, an upcoming idle RPG that will retain the original game’s universe and storyline while introducing additional narrative content.
The new project will be developed by TIKITAKA STUDIO, a subsidiary of Com2uS, with a global release planned for iOS and Android in the first half of 2027.
The announcement arrives roughly ten years after the original Destiny Child debuted in South Korea. The game became widely recognized for its Live2D character animations and extensive collection of characters before its service officially ended on September 21, 2023.
New Stories and Idle RPG Gameplay
According to Com2uS, Destiny Child: Assemble will preserve the original game’s setting while expanding its narrative through additional character-focused stories.
Individual character narratives will also be connected to the collection and progression systems. This means players can discover more stories as they recruit and develop their favorite characters.
However, the new title will move away from the original game’s real-time combat, quick-time events, and character-specific skills. Instead, it will adopt an automated battle system commonly associated with idle RPGs.
Detailed gameplay mechanics have not yet been revealed, leaving questions about how character progression, team building, and combat will work in the new release.
Resurrection Flower Returns in First Teaser
The announcement was accompanied by a teaser trailer featuring the Resurrection Flower, a familiar element from the original game’s universe associated with restoring life.
Another message briefly appears in the footage, asking, “Do you remember our pact?” The phrase references the franchise’s central premise, in which demons form contracts with humans to create humanoid familiars known as Childs.
Com2uS also explained the meaning behind the subtitle “Assemble.” It refers to the gathering of Demon King Candidates, the term used for players in the original game, while also symbolizing a reunion with fans who have been waiting for the franchise’s return.
Destiny Child: Assemble Release Window
Destiny Child: Assemble is scheduled for a global release on Android and iOS during the first half of 2027.
Com2uS plans to reveal more information through the game’s official website and social media channels ahead of launch. For now, additional details regarding gameplay, character lineups, and monetization have yet to be announced.
