The manga Tsugumi Project has officially been confirmed to receive a television anime adaptation. The announcement was accompanied by the release of a teaser trailer and a new key visual, giving fans their first glimpse of the upcoming adaptation. Created by ippatu, Tsugumi Project first began serialization in July 2019 and concluded in November 2023. The manga completed its run with a total of seven collected volumes, earning praise for its post-apocalyptic setting, suspenseful storytelling, and striking artwork.

The story follows Leon, a soldier who is falsely accused of a crime and separated from his family. As punishment, he is assigned to what is essentially a suicide mission: recover a mysterious and dangerous weapon hidden within one of the world’s deadliest regions.
The destination is a land that was once known as Japan over 200 years earlier. Now, it has become a hostile wasteland overrun by gigantic monsters, contaminated by radiation, and filled with terrifying mutated creatures. Leon and the members of his squad are sent into the forbidden zone with little hope of returning alive.
