The upcoming anime adaptation of The Fledgling Demon Lord’s Starter Shop (Sudachi no Maoujou) has revealed a new preview and visual, giving fans their first look at the fantasy comedy ahead of its scheduled premiere in January 2027. The series will be animated by Project No.9, a studio known for working on a variety of anime projects across different genres.
The anime combines action, adventure, fantasy, comedy, and shounen elements, offering a lighthearted take on what happens to the world after the traditional hero-versus-demon lord story has already come to an end.
The story begins after a hero successfully defeats the Demon Lord, bringing peace back to the world. While this might sound like the perfect ending to a grand adventure, peace creates an unexpected problem for a young villager from Beginnerville.
With the Demon Lord gone, adventurers no longer have as many reasons to prepare for dangerous journeys. As a result, demand for potions, equipment, and other adventuring supplies begins to disappear. This directly affects the young man’s business, The Nest, an adventurer goods shop that struggles to attract customers in the peaceful new era.
If the situation continues, he may have no choice but to close the shop for good.
However, everything changes when a mysterious girl suddenly appears. Her arrival brings an unexpected turn to the young shopkeeper’s ordinary life and could potentially change the fate of The Nest.
Rather than focusing on the familiar journey of defeating a powerful Demon Lord, The Fledgling Demon Lord’s Starter Shop explores the aftermath of such a legendary battle from a much more unusual perspective. The series looks set to blend fantasy adventure with comedy while following a protagonist whose biggest challenge is keeping his business alive.
With its new preview and visual now available, anticipation is building for the January 2027 premiere. Fans of fantasy anime looking for a story that approaches the genre from a different angle may want to keep The Fledgling Demon Lord’s Starter Shop on their watchlist.
