Nexon Shares New Details About Project RX in Q1 2026 Financial Report

Through its latest Q1 2026 financial report, Nexon shared updated roadmap information for several upcoming projects, including new platform details for Project RX.

According to the report, the game is currently planned not only for mobile and PC platforms, but also for consoles. Because of its confirmed mobile release, many players believe this strongly suggests that Project RX is still being developed as a live-service title.

At the moment, however, there are still very few concrete details regarding the game itself, and development appears to remain in relatively early stages since the project still does not have an official final title.

Previously shared development information revealed that Project RX originally began development using the Unity engine before the team later decided to switch production over to Unreal Engine 5.

Many fans considered the engine transition a natural move, especially because the development team reportedly includes many staff members already experienced with Unreal Engine technology and its advanced feature set.

The developers have also openly stated that they do not want Project RX to feel too similar to Blue Archive, despite comparisons frequently appearing online due to the project’s visual style.

Instead, the team reportedly wants the game to establish its own unique identity, particularly through gameplay systems and other core elements. Because of this direction, the developers are still reportedly exploring what genre best fits the project, meaning there is currently no final clarity regarding the exact gameplay structure the game will ultimately adopt.

One of the project’s biggest themes is described as “subculture,” with the story focusing heavily on the lives, struggles, and everyday experiences of the main characters.

From the first teaser visuals previously shown, fans immediately noticed the game’s modern anime-inspired character designs mixed with subtle traditional cultural influences. The teaser also appeared to reveal at least one character possessing cat ears and a tail, suggesting the game world may include demi-human or animal-human hybrid races as part of its setting.

Although much about Project RX remains mysterious for now, curiosity surrounding the project continues growing due to its connection with former Blue Archive development talent and Nexon’s ongoing push into anime-style live-service games.
