InZOI Player Count Plummets Despite Strong Start

April 28, 2025

Krafton’s new life simulator, InZOI, had a highly successful launch, quickly selling over one million copies within the first week of its Early Access release. However, just a few weeks later, the player numbers tell a different story — and not a particularly happy one.

A Successful Launch, But Fading Interest

At release, InZOI reached a peak of 87,377 concurrent players, positioning it as one of the hottest new titles on Steam. But despite this strong debut, the momentum seems to have stalled.

Recent statistics show a steep decline in the average player count. From an average of 8,000–9,000 concurrent players around April 11, the numbers have since dropped to just 3,028 players as of April 29.

Why Are Players Leaving InZOI?

There are a few key reasons behind the InZOI player count decline:

  • Shallow Gameplay: Despite its promising foundation, many players felt the gameplay was too shallow to hold their interest for long.

  • Early Access Challenges: While the Early Access label gave Krafton breathing room, it also meant the game lacked polish and depth that players were hoping for.

  • Competitive Market: InZOI was marketed as a potential “Sims killer,” but for now, it falls short of offering a full-fledged alternative to games like The Sims 4.

What Lies Ahead for InZOI?

The Early Access tag still gives Krafton a vital window of opportunity. Future updates, expansions, and quality-of-life improvements could re-energize the community and bring players back.

Krafton must now act quickly: listen to player feedback, deepen the gameplay experience, and ensure regular content drops to keep players engaged. Otherwise, InZOI risks becoming another case of a promising title that couldn’t sustain its early success.
