Capcom has officially closed the most successful fiscal year in the company’s history after selling a massive 59.07 million game copies during the period ending March 31, 2026.
The number marks a significant increase compared to the previous fiscal year, which recorded 51.87 million copies sold. In addition, Capcom also achieved its ninth consecutive year of record-high profits, while setting all-time company records for both consolidated revenue and operating profit.
One of the biggest drivers behind this historic performance was Resident Evil Requiem. The latest entry in the Resident Evil franchise reportedly sold nearly 7 million copies within only about two months following its launch between February and the end of March.
According to the report, older catalog titles also continued playing a major role in the company’s overall success. Capcom revealed that approximately 83.7% of total game sales came from previously released titles, showing the long-term strength of its major franchises.
Meanwhile, digital distribution now dominates the company’s business almost entirely, with 93% of all Capcom game sales reportedly coming from digital downloads.
For the next fiscal year, Capcom is targeting:
- 210 billion yen in revenue
- 83 billion yen in operating profit
- and total game sales of 65 million copies by March 2027
If these goals are achieved, the company will secure its tenth consecutive year of record-breaking profits.
Several major upcoming releases are expected to help Capcom reach those ambitious targets. Among them is PRAGMATA, which has reportedly already surpassed 2 million copies sold during its opening weeks.
In addition, Onimusha: Way of the Sword is planned for release during the next fiscal period and is expected to become one of Capcom’s major upcoming titles.
The company also confirmed that Mega Man: Dual Override is currently scheduled for release in 2027 as part of Capcom’s future lineup.
With multiple successful franchises continuing to perform strongly and digital sales remaining dominant, Capcom appears to be entering one of the strongest periods in its entire history.
