
The official website and social media accounts for the Witch Watch anime have announced that the series will be returning for a second season, following the conclusion of its first season, which aired with a total of 25 episodes.
According to the announcement, Season 2 is currently in production and is expected to premiere sometime in 2027. The production process is reportedly estimated to take around 16 months in total. Animation duties will once again be handled by Bibury Animation Studios, the same studio responsible for the first season of Witch Watch. Fans can expect the same colorful animation style and lighthearted charm that defined the anime’s debut run.
Synopsis
Witch Watch follows Nico Wakatsuki, a young witch who returns to her hometown after six years of training. Hoping to find a familiar to serve as her magical partner, she chooses Morihito “Moi” Otogi, her childhood friend who happens to be an ogre. Though reluctant at first, Morihito accepts his role as Nico’s protector in order to shield her from a mysterious curse foretold by prophecy. Living together under one roof, the two face magical mishaps, comedic situations, and heartwarming moments as they try to navigate the challenges of fate and friendship.
