Paradox Interactive has confirmed that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 remains on schedule for its planned October 2025 release, despite recent layoffs at the game’s developer, The Chinese Room.
The highly anticipated sequel to the cult-classic 2004 RPG has faced a turbulent development history, including studio changes and repeated delays. However, earlier this year, The Chinese Room officially announced that Bloodlines 2 would arrive in October 2025—more than two decades after the original.
Recent news of layoffs at The Chinese Room sparked fears of yet another setback, but Paradox was quick to address the situation. In a statement to PC Gamer, a Paradox representative confirmed that the cuts have not affected the game’s development.
“The game is still coming in October,” the publisher reassured fans.
Before the layoffs were confirmed, The Chinese Room had already stated that development on Bloodlines 2 was in its final stages, with the bulk of the work completed. What’s left now is mainly polish and bug-fixing, which explains how the project could stay on course despite a smaller team.
