The creator of an upcoming Stardew Valley Voice Acting Mod has officially revealed the cast members who will be lending their voices to the project. This ambitious fan-made mod aims to bring full voice acting to all 12 romanceable characters in Stardew Valley, adding a whole new layer of immersion to the beloved farming RPG.
Originally released in 2016, Stardew Valley has become one of the most popular indie games of all time. By December 2024, the title had sold over 41 million copies worldwide, cementing its legacy as a genre-defining farming simulator. Its dedicated community has continued to thrive through countless mods, expansions, and fan projects, with this voice acting mod being the latest in a long line of creative contributions.
Cast of Stardew Valley’s Voice Acting Mod
Creator Shannon Hobby recently revealed the full cast lineup for the mod, titled “Stardew Voices: A Voice Over Mod.” The project will feature 12 talented actors, each voicing one of the romanceable characters in the game:
-
Abigail: Diana Jurand
-
Alex: Eamon Kinsman
-
Elliot: Emmanuel Menjivar
-
Emily: Ariel Michelle
-
Haley: Kemi Heydee Stanton
-
Harvey: GM Hakim
-
Leah: Aiden Dawn
-
Maru: Nia Celeste
-
Penny: Heidi Tabing
-
Sam: Jacob Hopkins
-
Sebastian: David Meyers
-
Shane: Jonathan David Bullock
With these performances, players will finally be able to hear the personalities of Pelican Town’s romanceable villagers in a way that written dialogue alone could never fully convey.
A Fall Release Planned
While Stardew Voices: A Voice Over Mod does not yet have a confirmed release date, Hobby has stated that the project is expected to launch sometime in Fall 2025. Importantly, all voice work is being recorded traditionally by the actors, without the use of AI-generated voices, ensuring an authentic and natural experience for players.
Unfortunately, at launch, the mod will only feature the 12 romanceable characters, meaning other villagers in Pelican Town won’t receive voiceovers. However, even with this limitation, the project is being celebrated as one of the most exciting fan mods in recent years.
Stardew Valley’s Growing Modding Scene
The voice acting mod is just the latest example of how far the Stardew Valley modding community continues to push boundaries. Recently, a Baldur’s Gate 3-themed mod was released, adding over 20 characters, six new locations, shops, and items, completely transforming Pelican Town into a crossover fantasy experience. Although Wizards of the Coast briefly took the mod down, it was later restored after an apology.
Projects like these demonstrate just how vibrant and passionate the Stardew Valley community remains, even nearly a decade after the game’s original release. With Stardew Voices: A Voice Over Mod on the horizon, fans can look forward to hearing their favorite characters in an entirely new way this Fall.
