Sony has gifted PlayStation Stars members one last surprise, marking the upcoming end of its short-lived loyalty program. The final digital collectable serves as a heartfelt farewell to users still enrolled in PlayStation Stars, which is currently in its winding-down phase.

Launched in 2022, PlayStation Stars was Sony’s attempt to reward loyal players by offering digital collectables and redeemable points for completing various challenges and tasks. While the program aimed to create an engaging ecosystem, it faced several obstacles during its lifespan. Notably, it was restricted to certain regions, remained exclusive to the PlayStation mobile app without launching on PS4 or PS5 consoles, and suffered a significant technical outage in June 2024. Despite the program technically existing for nearly three years, many members only had access for about a year.

In October 2024, Sony removed store credit rewards from PlayStation Stars, and by May 2025, the program’s shutdown was officially announced. Now, ahead of the program’s final campaigns ending on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Sony has released the final collectable: a blue-and-purple star emblematic of the program’s name and spirit.

Accompanying the collectable is an emotional message from Sony:
“Thank you for three years of silly jokes, fun collectables, and a shared love of incredible games.”

This final token is a nostalgic nod to the community and a reminder of the shared passion within the PlayStation ecosystem.

If you’re still a member, make sure to log in to the PlayStation Stars app and claim your final digital collectable before the program officially closes. This last memento represents the end of a unique chapter for PlayStation fans worldwide.
