The latest trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has given fans their best look yet at the game’s extensive customization and gadget systems. Launching on September 25 for most major platforms, the upcoming title combines high-speed kart racing with multiverse-traveling madness, offering one of the most feature-rich Sonic racing experiences to date.

Over 1,000 Vehicle Parts and 70+ Gadgets

Customization is a major highlight in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, and SEGA isn’t holding back. According to the latest trailer and a statement from the publisher, the game will feature over 40 base cars, more than 70 gadgets, and over 1,000 parts and decals to modify your ride. Players can fine-tune their vehicle’s speed, acceleration, and handling by selecting from different car bodies, hoods, bumpers, wheels, and cosmetic items.

The trailer features Cream the Rabbit demonstrating these features, showing off the different vehicle configurations available — a testament to the game’s depth in personalization. The variety allows for not just performance tuning, but also visual expression, giving each player a truly unique racer.

Choose Your Ride — Even Hoverboards

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds isn’t just about traditional karts. Players can also race using Extreme Gear hoverboards, a throwback to the fan-favorite Sonic Riders series. With 23 base characters available at launch and even more planned as post-release DLC, players will have no shortage of options when building their ideal racing team.

Each character can ride different vehicles and equip gadgets regardless of type, opening the door for unique combinations and unexpected strategies on the track.

Multidimensional Racing

Perhaps the most exciting new feature is dimensional track-shifting. Thanks to in-game portals, players will zip between different worlds and environments mid-race, dramatically altering the layout, hazards, and challenges in real time. This mechanic introduces new layers of unpredictability and replayability that set CrossWorlds apart from traditional kart racers.

Whether you’re drifting through lush jungles or blasting through futuristic highways, the ever-changing courses promise a wild ride every time.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is shaping up to be the most ambitious Sonic racing game yet, with deep systems for personalization, strategic gadget loadouts, and interdimensional mayhem. Fans of the franchise — and kart racing in general — won’t want to miss its release on September 25.
