A brand-new fan-made mod called “Call of the Deep” is making waves in the Skyrim community. Designed as a DLC-sized addition to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, this ambitious project takes players on a dark underwater journey to a legendary Dwemer city beneath the Sea of Ghosts, complete with an original story, puzzles, new gear, and a fully interactive player home.
Released by modder arminZX12 on Nexus Mods, Call of the Deep features a richly detailed questline triggered once the player enters any city. After receiving a mysterious letter, the Dragonborn is tasked with uncovering the fate of a missing expeditioner in R’lyend, a long-lost Dwemer metropolis submerged deep beneath the icy waters of northern Tamriel.
The mod delivers fully voiced dialogue, branching narrative choices, and a haunting underwater atmosphere. Players will face challenging puzzles, deadly traps, and horrifying sea creatures, all while uncovering ancient secrets of the Dwemer civilization.
In addition to the main quest, Call of the Deep includes:
-
A beautifully crafted underwater player home with interactive rooms
-
A custom follower who joins your journey
-
New weapons, spells, ingredients, and artifacts
-
Lore-friendly integration into the Skyrim world
Compatible with both Skyrim Special Edition and Anniversary Edition, the mod can be downloaded now on Nexus Mods.
Over a decade after its initial launch, Skyrim remains a playground for creative modders — and Call of the Deep is one of the most exciting recent additions, expanding the game with fresh challenges and a new layer of depth, literally.
