New Project Sabbath Concept Art Reveals Older Bruce Wayne & Damian Batman

Leaked concept art of older Bruce Wayne and Damian Wayne Batman from canceled Project Sabbath game.

After years of speculation and scattered leaks, new concept art for the long-canceled Batman game Project Sabbath has surfaced online—offering the clearest look yet at its core characters, including a visibly older Bruce Wayne and a reimagined Damian Wayne as Batman.

Though it was never officially announced, Project Sabbath has maintained a mythic status among fans of the Arkham series. Reportedly in development at WB Games Montréal, the title was designed as a successor to Batman: Arkham Knight (2015), set in a future Gotham where Bruce Wayne has stepped down and his son, Damian Wayne, has taken up the mantle of the Dark Knight.

Fresh Art Shows a Gritty, Futuristic Gotham Duo

The newly leaked concept art, originally shared by former WB Montreal character artist Rodrigue Pralier and posted via MP1ST, highlights a striking shift in tone and character design.

  • Bruce Wayne is depicted as an aged, weary figure walking with a cane—evoking parallels with Batman Beyond‘s mentor figure.

  • Damian Wayne, in contrast, dons a sleek, agile Batsuit with visible scars, sharp blue eyes, and a cropped hairstyle. The design suggests a combat-focused, stealth-enhanced version of the Caped Crusader.

The images also include early in-game character models that emphasize the gritty realism and futuristic atmosphere intended for this narrative shift.

A Canceled Legacy That Fans Still Want

Project Sabbath was ultimately shelved in favor of Gotham Knights, which launched in 2022 to a mixed critical reception. Unlike Project Sabbath’s solo hero focus, Gotham Knights took a co-op multiplayer approach featuring Bat-family characters like Nightwing, Batgirl, and Red Hood.

Still, many fans believe Project Sabbath had more potential for a compelling, story-driven experience. The leaked concept art continues to generate buzz on social media, with fans praising the bold character design and lamenting what could have been a powerful evolution in Batman gaming lore.

Could Project Sabbath Ever Be Revived?

While WB Games Montréal has moved on to other projects, the continued interest in Project Sabbath shows there’s still demand for a game exploring Damian Wayne as Batman. With superhero games making a resurgence thanks to titles like Spider-Man 2 and the upcoming Superman game, revisiting this idea might not be off the table entirely.

For now, the leaked visuals offer a bittersweet look at a Batman story we may never officially play—but one that clearly still resonates with fans years after its cancellation.
