Persona 4 Revival has returned to the spotlight following Atlus’ second broadcast for the upcoming remake. During the presentation, the developer revealed additional information about the game’s party members and several supporting characters, including one familiar face from the franchise’s anime adaptation.
One of the more unexpected reveals was Aika Nakamura, a character who did not appear directly in the original Persona 4 game. Instead, Aika was first introduced in the Persona 4 anime adaptation, making her inclusion in Persona 4 Revival particularly notable.
Aika is the daughter of the owner of Aiya, the Chinese restaurant located in Inaba. The restaurant is a familiar location for players of Persona 4, although Aika herself was not featured as a fully present character in the original game. Her existence has previously received references in titles such as Persona 4 Golden and Persona 4 Arena.
With Persona 4 Revival, Aika will finally make a direct appearance in a mainline Persona game. Her inclusion effectively brings a character known primarily from the anime into the game’s version of Inaba, expanding the connections between the different Persona 4 adaptations.
Atlus has also introduced a new type of side content called Location Episodes, which will be connected to Aika and other aspects of life in Inaba. These episodes are designed to explore additional stories involving the town and its residents, giving players more opportunities to learn about the people and locations surrounding the main storyline.
The concept may remind fans of the Linked Episodes featured in Persona 3 Reload. However, Location Episodes appear to place greater emphasis on individual locations and the everyday lives of Inaba’s residents. Aika is among the characters who can lead players toward some of these additional stories.
At this point, Atlus has not confirmed whether Aika will receive her own Social Link. Nevertheless, her appearances in portions of the main story suggest that her role could extend beyond the Location Episodes.
Persona 4 Revival is scheduled to release on February 18, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will follow on May 20, 2027.
