Nexon Games reported an operating loss of ₩60.2 billion (approximately USD 45 million) for fiscal year 2025, according to its financial statement released on February 12, 2026. The result marks a sharp reversal from 2024, when the company recorded an operating profit of ₩38.7 billion.
Total annual revenue reached ₩179.3 billion (around USD 135 million), representing a decline of roughly 30% compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, net losses stood at ₩61.8 billion (approximately USD 46 million), highlighting significant financial pressure throughout the fiscal period.
Management cited two primary factors behind the downturn: weakening sales from existing game titles and rising operational expenses, particularly related to the development of new projects. The report suggests that recent investments in expanding intellectual properties (IP) have yet to generate meaningful short-term financial returns.
Currently, Nexon Games manages several well-known titles, including The First Descendant, Sudden Attack, and Blue Archive. Although Blue Archive maintains a strong global fanbase and steady engagement within the subculture gaming market, its performance alone has not been sufficient to offset the broader revenue decline.
As part of its recovery strategy, Nexon Games introduced a new initiative titled Project RX in December 2025 and is actively recruiting developers to accelerate its production. The move signals that the company remains committed to aggressive IP expansion despite its current financial challenges.
With the live-service and subculture gaming markets becoming increasingly competitive, 2026 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for Nexon Games. The company’s ability to stabilize revenue streams while successfully launching new titles will likely determine the sustainability of its long-term growth strategy in a rapidly evolving global gaming industry.
