Capcom has officially confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds’ second major post-launch update will introduce a highly requested feature from Monster Hunter World — Layered Weapons. This update is set to enhance customization options by allowing hunters to change the appearance of their weapons without sacrificing stats.
The newest installment in the Monster Hunter franchise expanded on its predecessor, Monster Hunter Rise, with a wealth of content — including thirty-five new monsters like the imposing Jin Dahaad and Rey Dau. Now, Title Update 2 promises to bring even more excitement with the return of the electrifying Lagiacrus, making its first appearance since Monster Hunter Generations.
Alongside the Lagiacrus, the update will introduce new 8-star Tempered Monsters, bringing tougher, more challenging versions of existing beasts to the wild. This ensures that veteran hunters have new challenges to conquer and fresh rewards to earn.
As confirmed by director Yuya Tokuda, Layered Weapons will allow players to apply the look of one Master Rank weapon to another while keeping the original weapon’s stats intact. Although the update’s specifics are yet to be fully detailed, fans can expect greater freedom in personalizing their hunters’ arsenal without compromising their hunting power.
This much-anticipated feature joins the growing list of additions enhancing Monster Hunter Wilds’ depth and player expression. With new monsters, tougher challenges, and improved customization, Title Update 2 is shaping up to be a significant milestone for the game.
Stay tuned for more updates as Capcom continues to expand the wild world of Monster Hunter Wilds.
