Minecraft Snapshot 25w06a: Warm and Cold Chickens, Cactus Flowers, and More!
Minecraft has released Snapshot 25w06a for the Java Edition, introducing exciting new features that enhance the Overworld. This update brings warm and cold chicken variants, a new cactus flower, and dry grasses to the game.
New Chicken Variants
The update Minecraft Snapshot 25w06a introduces two new chicken variants: warm and cold chickens. These variants spawn in their respective biomes, while the original chickens are now referred to as temperate chickens. The eggs laid by these chickens are also different in color, with blue eggs hatching cold chickens and brown eggs hatching warm chickens.
I have previously mentioned the chicken variants in my review of the minecraft snapshot 25w05a update Conclusion. Interestingly, I made a joke predicting Mojang might add chicken variants in a future update, and now I’m somewhat spooked by my seemingly prophetic joke. Needless to say, I’m not going to make any more predictions about future updates!
Cactus Flowers
A new addition to the flora collection is the cactus flower, which grows on top of cacti in the Desert and Badlands biomes. These flowers can be used to craft pink dye, attract bees, and produce bone meal when placed in a composter.
Dry Grasses
The update also introduces short and tall dry grasses, which can be found in the Desert and Badlands biomes. These grasses can be used as food for sheep, to create bone meal in a composter, or as a fuel source.
Other Changes
Other changes in this snapshot include improvements to the desert biomes with new ambient sounds and changes to the conditions for the Firefly Bush playing ambient sounds.
