More Evidence Points to a Mid-September 2025 Nintendo Direct

Even more evidence of a September 2025 Nintendo Direct has surfaced online, with reliable leakers narrowing down the most likely dates for the showcase. If accurate, this event could align with Super Mario’s 40th anniversary and major updates for upcoming Switch 2 titles.

Leaks Narrow Down the Date

On August 25, leaker SwitchForce claimed that a Nintendo Direct is planned for September 2025. They specifically highlighted September 12 (Friday) as the potential broadcast date—an unusual choice, as Nintendo rarely schedules Directs on Fridays.

Six days later, Nintendo insider NateTheHate (X post) backed this up, confirming:

“Yes, there is a Nintendo Direct in September.”

He clarified that the event is planned for the second week of September (8–14) and narrowed it further to “on or around” September 11–12.

Historical Context: Why September Fits

Nintendo has consistently hosted Directs in September—between 2014 and 2024, only two years (2015 and 2024) lacked one. That pattern makes September 2025 a prime candidate.

Complicating matters, the dates overlap with Super Mario Bros.’ 40th anniversary on September 13, raising speculation about anniversary-related announcements. While rumors suggested a new Super Mario Bros. collection, NateTheHate said he has not heard of any such reveal being tied to this Direct.

What Could Be Revealed

One of the strongest candidates for the showcase is Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Nintendo has reiterated that the game is still targeting a 2025 release window, but with the year now three-quarters over, fans are expecting a concrete launch date soon.

Other possibilities include new updates for Switch 2 titles and anniversary celebrations, though a shadow drop for Metroid Prime 4 seems unlikely given its scale and importance.

With trusted insiders like NateTheHate lending weight to the September 11–12 window, the evidence for a mid-September 2025 Nintendo Direct is stronger than ever. While Nintendo has yet to officially confirm the event, history, timing, and fan expectations all point to a packed showcase.
