The upcoming TV anime adaptation of the manga “Kanan-sama wa Akumade Choroi” — officially titled “Kanan is Simple-Minded in the End” — has been confirmed to premiere in Spring 2026.
The story follows Kanan, a charming high school girl who is secretly a demon. Her goal is to harvest the souls of men she finds “delicious,” but her mission takes an unexpected turn when she falls in love with a human boy named Kyougi Youji. As their unusual relationship unfolds, Kyougi becomes the target of other demons, leading to a chaotic yet comedic blend of romance, fantasy, and supernatural drama.
The anime adaptation will be produced by Studio Kai, known for its work on Uma Musume: Pretty Derby and Super Cub, with King Records serving as the production partner.
Described as a romantic comedy with fantasy elements, the series will feature playful and slightly mature scenes, staying true to the tone of the original manga. Fans can look forward to a mix of humor, affection, and supernatural mischief as Kanan and Kyougi navigate their otherworldly love story.
