John Wick Hex, the only official game based on the legendary John Wick film franchise, will be delisted from all digital storefronts on July 17, 2025, according to a recent announcement by its publisher, Big Fan Games. After this date, the tactical RPG will no longer be available for purchase on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch.

Originally released for PC and macOS in October 2019, John Wick Hex later arrived on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch in 2020. The game was developed by Bithell Games, an indie British studio led by Thomas Was Alone creator Mike Bithell.

A Tactical Spin on the John Wick Universe

Unlike traditional action shooters, John Wick Hex takes a unique approach with real-time tactical gameplay. Players take control of the infamous assassin as he embarks on a mission to rescue Winston and Charon from a mysterious new villain known as Hex.

The game features voice performances from franchise stars Ian McShane and the late Lance Reddick, reprising their roles as Winston and Charon. Voice actor Troy Baker lends his talents to the villain Hex, adding gravitas to the game’s comic-book-style storytelling.

Why Is John Wick Hex Being Delisted?

In a Steam post, Big Fan Games confirmed the delisting but did not provide a specific reason. It’s common in the industry for licensed games to be removed due to expired rights agreements with film studios—in this case, likely with Lionsgate, the rights holder for the John Wick films.

Can You Still Play It After July 17?

Yes. If you already own John Wick Hex, you’ll be able to redownload and play it at any time through your digital library. Physical copies of the game on console platforms will also continue to function normally.

However, after July 17, new players will not be able to purchase the game digitally on any platform. This makes the next few days your last chance to grab the title legally.

A Mixed Yet Memorable Legacy

John Wick Hex stands out thanks to its stylized visuals, turn-based strategy elements, and lore-expanding narrative. While it wasn’t a runaway hit like the movie series, it gained a modest cult following. Some fans praised its originality, while others critiqued the gameplay for lacking the fluid action that defines the film series.

Regardless of where it stands in the franchise’s legacy, John Wick Hex represents an important entry in the expanding Wick universe—and it soon might become a collector’s item.
