The controversy surrounding Neverness to Everness continues to grow after popular VTuber Ironmouse reportedly decided to cut ties with the game’s sponsorship campaign due to concerns over alleged AI-generated content.
Since the game’s reveal and promotional rollout, many players and artists within the community have pointed out what they believe are strong signs of AI-assisted or AI-generated assets being used throughout the project. The issue quickly became one of the biggest discussions surrounding the game online, especially among fans concerned about originality and ethical art production in the gaming industry.
During a recent livestream clip that spread across social media, Ironmouse explained that her sponsorship management team had contacted representatives connected to the game. According to her statement, the representatives reportedly claimed that the game did not contain AI-generated content. However, the situation became more controversial after community investigations suggested otherwise.
Fans and online users have since gathered multiple examples of what they believe to be AI-assisted material inside the game and its promotional content. These allegations include character concepts allegedly created with AI before being manually refined, in-game posters and city artwork suspected of using AI generation, as well as animated promotional videos that many viewers believe show clear signs of AI-generated visuals.
The situation has divided the gaming community. Some players argue that limited AI-assisted production is becoming increasingly common within the industry, especially for background assets and concept iteration. Others believe developers should be fully transparent about how AI tools are used, particularly when marketing games to audiences that strongly support human artists and creators.
The controversy has also reignited broader discussions about the growing role of generative AI in entertainment media, including video games, animation, and digital art. Critics worry that unclear disclosure practices could damage trust between studios, creators, and fans.
Despite the backlash, Neverness to Everness continues to attract attention due to its urban fantasy setting and anime-inspired presentation. However, the ongoing AI debate may continue to impact public perception and future collaborations with online creators and influencers.
