The release date of Hollow Knight: Silksong is shaking up the indie gaming landscape. After years of anticipation, Team Cherry’s long-awaited sequel is finally launching on September 4, 2025. But with so much attention on Hornet’s new adventure, other developers are adjusting their schedules to avoid being overshadowed.
Recently, Panik Arcade announced that their roguelite game CloverPit has been delayed. Originally set to launch on September 3, just one day before Silksong, CloverPit will now arrive on September 26, 2025.
Why CloverPit Was Delayed
In a statement on CloverPit’s Steam page, Panik Arcade explained the decision: launching so close to Silksong’s release could prevent their project from receiving the attention it deserves. By pushing the release date back, the developers hope to give CloverPit “its best chance,” while also using the extra time to refine the game.
This isn’t the only title to shift plans. Talegames previously postponed the release of Faeland, an RPG inspired by classic 8-bit adventures, to avoid colliding with Silksong’s highly anticipated debut.
What Is CloverPit?
CloverPit is a roguelite with heavy inspirations from popular indie hits such as Balatro and Buckshot Roulette. Players find themselves trapped in a dilapidated cell with only an ATM and a slot machine, forced to gamble their way out of a nightmarish debt. With over 150 items, synergies, and combos, CloverPit challenges players to manipulate the machines, survive, and buy themselves enough time for freedom.
Hollow Knight: Silksong Hype Continues
As for Silksong itself, Team Cherry promises an expansive journey with Hornet as the main protagonist. Captured and taken to a distant kingdom, she’ll battle over 200 enemies using traps, new weapons, and deadly combos. Fans can also expect a diverse cast of NPCs, breathtaking hand-drawn environments, and a score by Christopher Larkin, the composer behind Hollow Knight’s acclaimed soundtrack.
With Silksong now officially dated, anticipation is at an all-time high. And while players will have to wait a bit longer for CloverPit, the delay ensures that both games will get the spotlight they deserve.
