The wild and witty world of High on Life is coming back in a big way. Squanch Games has officially confirmed that High on Life 2 will launch on February 13, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Just like the original, the sequel promises over-the-top humor and chaotic alien blasting—but this time it’s taking things to the next level with a surprising twist: multiple fully playable retro games built inside the experience.
Bible Adventures Joins the List
In an interview with IGN during Gamescom 2025, Squanch Games’ chief creative officer and art director, Mikey Spano, revealed that High on Life 2 will include “more than five” fully emulated video games from the past. Among them is the infamous Bible Adventures, a 1991 NES game often considered one of the worst video games of all time.
“Yes, you can play the whole thing,” Spano confirmed, teasing that this won’t be the only unexpected retro gem tucked inside the sequel.
From Movies to Games
Fans of the first High on Life will remember the quirky Easter eggs that let players watch full-length movies inside the game, including Tammy and the T-Rex, Blood Harvest, and Demon Wind. While those made the original a cult hit on Xbox Game Pass, the sequel pushes the boundaries even further—swapping movies for fully emulated games that are completely playable from start to finish.
This move not only adds more variety to the gameplay but also serves as an unusual and creative way to preserve older titles within a modern release.
What to Expect in High on Life 2
Though Spano didn’t reveal the full list of games, players can expect at least half a dozen retro titles to uncover and play. The mix of comedy-driven storytelling, chaotic FPS gameplay, and hidden playable classics could make High on Life 2 one of the most unique sequels in years.
The original High on Life earned a Top Critic Average of 69 on review aggregator OpenCritic, and Squanch Games hopes the sequel can build on its cult success. With a confirmed release date and innovative features, High on Life 2 is shaping up to be a must-play in early 2026.
