Without a long teaser campaign beforehand, Goddess of Victory: NIKKE has suddenly revealed a brand-new animated shorts series titled Outpost: Off-Duty Tales.
Unlike the intense battlefield atmosphere and dangerous missions usually associated with NIKKE, this new short-form series will focus on the everyday lives of the Nikke characters living at the Outpost.
According to the announcement, the series will showcase lighter slice-of-life moments featuring:
relaxing daily activities
comedic interactions
unexpected incidents
and heartwarming moments between the characters
The first episode, titled “The Counters – First Time at the Outpost!”, is officially scheduled to premiere on May 22.
The surprise reveal quickly became a major topic among fans, especially because many players have long wanted to see more casual interactions between the characters outside of combat scenarios.
Since launch, Goddess of Victory: NIKKE has built a reputation for combining dramatic storytelling and action-heavy missions with surprisingly emotional character writing. Because of this, many fans believe a slice-of-life format fits the franchise perfectly.
