One Elden Ring Nightreign player is turning heads in the community with an incredible feat—clearing every boss in the game’s solo mode using Revenant, widely considered one of the “squishiest” characters on the roster.
Elden Ring: Nightreign, the roguelike spinoff of the iconic open-world Soulslike, has seen explosive success since launch, topping two million units sold within a day and climbing Steam’s “Most Played” chart almost instantly. The game introduces eight distinct characters with unique playstyles, ranging from the heavily armored Guardian to spellcasters like Recluse and Revenant.
While many of the characters in Nightreign are clearly designed with co-op synergy in mind, Reddit user PotatoFoSho chose to push the limits of what’s possible by soloing every boss as Revenant, a fragile, mana-reliant caster not often seen as viable for solo play. The community has dubbed this feat the “solo gremlin challenge.”
According to a report by PC Gamer, PotatoFoSho shared the details of their build and strategy. They crafted a Relic setup centered on maximizing spell output and mana regeneration, enabling Revenant to stay aggressive while minimizing risk. Despite Revenant’s low durability, the player managed to take down all bosses without assistance and did so in under a week.
“I wanted to prove she wasn’t just a glass cannon,” the player noted. “With the right setup and enough practice, Revenant can clear the whole thing solo.”
This accomplishment has inspired a wave of renewed interest in Revenant and similar “underdog” builds, with players now sharing their own strategies and tweaks to try and replicate the feat. It’s a reminder that even in a multiplayer-focused roguelike, skill, preparation, and creativity can overcome even the toughest odds.
As Elden Ring: Nightreign continues to dominate charts and discussions, player-driven moments like this one only strengthen its reputation as one of the most community-driven Soulslike experiences in recent memory.
