Bandai Namco has officially announced that the Mask of Idris expansion for CODE VEIN II will launch on September 9, 2026, alongside the major free version 2.0 update. The upcoming expansion will be sold separately and will also be included automatically for owners of the game’s Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition.
The expansion introduces a new region known as the Forsaken World—a realm forged from the lingering desires of multiple timelines erased by historical distortions. At the center of this alternate space lies the Spindle of Pathos, a massive vortex continuously absorbing emotions across space and time that has begun spilling into the real world. During the journey, players will partner with Liv Voda, an aggressive guardian of time and space. As high-level post-game content, the expansion requires players to complete the main story’s “Luna Fraterna” ending and finish the “Valentin’s Request” sub-mission to unlock access. Releasing concurrently with the expansion, the free Version 2.0 update brings several new features, including a post-game exploration system that lets players roam the world freely alongside their chosen companions. Bandai Namco plans to reveal full specifics regarding the update’s additional contents as the release date approaches.
CODE VEIN II expands upon the series’ signature action RPG combat, allowing players to drain enemy blood to unleash skills, customize builds via Blood Codes, and wield specialized gear called Jails. The game also features a seamless dual-combat Partner System alongside deep character customization options—including detailed body shapes, facial expressions, and cosmetics—which players can showcase in hot springs or through the built-in Photo Mode. CODE VEIN II is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
