Activision has officially announced that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be shutting down permanently, with the game scheduled to be delisted from app stores on May 18, 2025. This news marks the end of the mobile adaptation of the popular Call of Duty: Warzone franchise, just over a year after its global release.

No More Updates or Purchases

In a statement posted to the game’s official X (Twitter) account, Activision confirmed that no new seasonal content or gameplay updates will be released moving forward. As of today, players can no longer purchase COD Points or BlackCell content using real-world currency. This sudden halt in support reflects a significant shift in Activision’s mobile gaming strategy, as the company now refocuses its resources on the more successful console and PC versions of Call of Duty: Warzone.

A Promising Launch Cut Short

Warzone Mobile launched on March 21, 2024, to much anticipation. In its first four days, it earned $1.6 million in revenue, and early updates promised a robust mobile battle royale experience. However, by early 2025, content updates became infrequent, and rumors of the game’s decline began circulating within the community.

The official confirmation of the game’s end on May 16, 2025, brings closure to months of speculation.

Delisting and Feature Shutdowns

Players have until Sunday, May 18, 2025, to download Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. After that, the game will be permanently delisted, and all social features on Android and iOS will be retired.

Activision stated that Warzone Mobile ultimately did not meet internal expectations, which led to the difficult decision to discontinue the title.

What’s Next for Mobile Call of Duty Fans?

While this announcement ends the journey for Warzone Mobile, fans of mobile shooters can still access Call of Duty: Mobile, which continues to receive active updates and support.

Stay tuned as Activision doubles down on its core platforms, the end of Warzone Mobile serves as a reminder of the challenges even major publishers face in the competitive mobile gaming market.
