Leaked details reveal 16 Call of Duty Black Ops 7 multiplayer 6v6 maps at launch

A new leak has revealed how many Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 6v6 multiplayer maps will be available at launch. The total number of maps is fairly in line with past entries, but there’s exciting news for Black Ops 2 fans in particular.

First announced during the Xbox Games Showcase in June, Black Ops 7 surprised many with its quick reveal, coming just one year after Black Ops 6 and breaking away from the franchise’s usual alternating release cycle. Since then, multiplayer leaks have continued to surface, giving fans a clearer picture of what to expect from the next entry in the long-running FPS series.

The latest information comes from reputable Call of Duty leaker TheGhostOfHope, who claims that Black Ops 7 will feature 16 6v6 maps at launch. For comparison, Black Ops 6 shipped with 12 day-one maps, meaning this would represent a notable increase in content if confirmed. On top of that, two Skirmish maps will also be included from the start, expanding the larger-scale gameplay experience.

The real highlight for longtime fans, though, is the return of some classic arenas. Out of the 16 launch maps, three will be remastered from Black Ops 2, with the remaining 13 being entirely new creations. This balance feels like a sweet spot, allowing players to revisit beloved maps without overshadowing fresh content.

The Call of Duty series has relied heavily on remasters in recent years, often sparking debate about whether the practice limits innovation. However, if this leak holds true, Black Ops 7 looks to strike a stronger balance between nostalgia and new experiences.

With official multiplayer details still under wraps, fans should take these leaks with a grain of salt. That said, the credibility of the source and the consistency with past COD launches make this leak particularly compelling.
