Battlefield 6 has shared a plethora of incoming changes based on player input obtained throughout the game’s public beta rounds. After wrapping up its final open beta, the next opportunity for players to dive in will be at launch on October 10, 2025.
Almost four years after the underwhelming debut of Battlefield 2042, DICE and its partner studios appear determined to stage a strong comeback. That confidence comes from Battlefield 6’s record-breaking beta in August, which saw over half a million simultaneous Steam players. The developers have now detailed how they’re acting on that feedback to refine gameplay before release.
Weapon Balancing and Gunplay Improvements
Battlefield 6 is getting a broad recoil pass across all weapons to make gunplay more consistent and rewarding. The developers are introducing tap-fire mechanics and encouraging more burst firing to reward skill and precision.
-
M87A1 shotgun nerf: now requires more pellets to secure a kill.
-
Time-to-Kill (TTK) and Time-to-Death (TTD): currently under review to ensure balanced pacing across firefights.
Movement System Adjustments
To address concerns that movement felt too fast and chaotic, DICE is toning things down:
-
Reduced momentum when sliding into a jump.
-
Lowered jump height to limit jump spamming.
-
Increased inaccuracy while firing mid-slide or mid-jump, promoting tactical play.
Maps and Mode Overhaul
One of the biggest complaints from the beta was the map scale. Many players felt that smaller maps limited the classic Battlefield sandbox experience. In response:
-
Two larger maps are coming, including one inspired by Battlefield 3’s Operation Firestorm.
-
Maps are being reworked to block unintended access to out-of-bounds rooftops and hidden areas.
-
Improved parachute control makes entering maps smoother and more intuitive.
-
Player counts in modes like Rush will be more flexible, adapting based on map design and player feedback. Rush in particular is being tuned for a slower, tactical flow of combat, true to its legacy.
Looking Ahead
With Battlefield 6’s Battlefield Studios team directly responding to beta feedback, fans have renewed hope that the franchise is returning to form. The focus on weapon skill, tactical pacing, and expansive battlefields suggests a more authentic Battlefield experience, poised to deliver when the game launches on October 10, 2025.
