Battlefield 6 developers are asking for the community’s assistance in resolving an “unexpectedly fast” time-to-death (TTD) bug that was discovered during the game’s recent open beta. The highly anticipated shooter, set to release on October 10, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, saw its first wave of public testing from August 7 to August 10.
The beta allowed players to experience maps such as Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak, and Iberian Offensive, along with five game modes, including the fan-favorite Conquest. While the testing phase achieved impressive milestones in the series’ history, it also revealed several issues — from a high number of cheaters to a PC anti-cheat conflict that required players to uninstall Valorant.
Now, another major problem has taken the spotlight: a bug that causes players to die much faster than intended. Lead game designer Florian Le Bihan took to Twitter to request videos from players who experienced the issue during the open beta. So far, the post has received over 160 responses, many including gameplay clips and detailed bug reports.
One of the most notable submissions shows two situations:
-
A player is instantly eliminated with no on-screen indication of being hit.
-
A player takes damage several seconds after being shot, suggesting a possible netcode or hit registration issue.
Time-to-death, or TTD, refers to how long it takes for a player to die after receiving damage. In addition to the TTD bug, Le Bihan also asked players to share clips of “super bullets” — cases where projectiles appear to deal unusually high damage.
EA has published a full list of known beta issues, which includes:
-
Players being unable to ping or spot while inside a vehicle.
-
The “close map” button becoming unresponsive after opening the map.
-
Players being unable to ping enemies while using stationary weapons.
The developers have assured the community that these problems will be addressed before launch. Player feedback and shared gameplay footage will play a crucial role in fine-tuning Battlefield 6’s multiplayer experience ahead of its release.
