Bandai Namco is bringing back Tales of Berseria in a remastered edition, set to launch on February 27, 2026. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam).
In this updated version, players will once again step into the shoes of Velvet Crowe, a woman driven by revenge after a tragic betrayal involving her brother. The remaster doesn’t just polish the graphics — it also improves the user experience in several ways:
There are destination icons on the map to help with navigation.
You can turn off random enemy encounters, which is super helpful for exploration.
The Grade Shop is accessible from the start, making character build options more flexible earlier on.
It also includes the DLC from the original game, like extra costumes and helpful items.
There’s a bit of a controversial detail though: this remastered version will use the censored international edition instead of the original Japanese version. Some fans are unhappy about that choice, because certain darker or more mature scenes have been altered.
The pricing for this remaster is pretty reasonable. The standard edition will cost about US$39.99, while a deluxe edition (with bonus music, a digital artbook, and more) will go for around US$59.99.
Why This Is Exciting:
It’s a chance for both longtime fans and newcomers to replay or experience Berseria in higher fidelity on modern systems.
The quality-of-life improvements make the game more accessible and less grindy.
Bundling the DLC adds real value for those who missed it or never played the original.
On the flip side, the censorship decision could stir debate among purists who want the full original story.
