Fortnite Precision Air Strike item disabled in Battle Royale mode

Epic Games has temporarily disabled the Precision Air Strike in Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode following the discovery of an issue. The Legendary consumable item was only recently introduced in the game as part of the Chapter 6 Season 4 update, quickly becoming one of the most powerful offensive tools available.

A Short-Lived Addition

Precision Air Strikes were rolled out on August 26, a few weeks after the season’s launch on August 7. The item allowed players to call in devastating support fire from above, instantly becoming a popular choice among the community. However, as its usage spread, reports of potential problems began surfacing just as quickly.

Official Statement from Epic Games

Through the Fortnite Status account on X, Epic Games announced that the item was being removed indefinitely due to an undisclosed issue. While the developers did not go into detail, they confirmed that they are actively investigating the problem and will reintroduce the Precision Air Strike once it is fixed.

Fans quickly took to the comments, expressing both disappointment and curiosity about the removal. Some shared clips of the item wiping out multiple enemies at once, hinting at possible balancing concerns. Others speculated about a bug that allegedly allowed unlimited uses of the consumable.

What’s Next for Fortnite Players

Although Epic Games hasn’t provided an ETA, it is expected that the Precision Air Strike will return in a future patch after adjustments or bug fixes. Until then, players will have to adapt their strategies around other powerful items.

Meanwhile, Epic continues to expand Fortnite’s accessibility. The game is set to become playable directly on Discord through a partnership with Nvidia GeForce Now, allowing fans to jump into the battle without downloads.

For now, fans of Fortnite’s newest Legendary item will need to wait patiently for its comeback.
