Patch 7.5 could bring two of the most anticipated Dawntrail features in 2026. Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida has shared when players can expect two highly anticipated features: the long-awaited Beastmaster Limited Job and the game’s next Ultimate Raid.
In an interview with PCGamesN during Gamescom 2025, Yoshida revealed that both features are tentatively scheduled to arrive with Patch 7.5 or later. Given Final Fantasy 14’s current four-month patch release cadence, this means players will likely have to wait until spring 2026 at the earliest to experience them.
This news follows the release of Patch 7.3: The Promise of Tomorrow, which concluded Dawntrail’s main story arc on August 5, 2025. The patch introduced the new San d’Oria: The Second Walk alliance raid, balance adjustments for jobs like Viper and Pictomancer, and various system updates. However, it also drew attention for what it lacked—Dawntrail’s second Ultimate Raid, leaving raiding teams without fresh high-end content.
Yoshida reassured fans that work on both the Ultimate Raid and Beastmaster Limited Job is progressing steadily. While he didn’t reveal details about the next Ultimate, he promised it would offer a “unique experience” designed for players who enjoy tackling high-end challenges.
The Beastmaster, meanwhile, will be the second Limited Job introduced to Final Fantasy 14, following the Blue Mage in 2019. Although Square Enix has not yet confirmed its weapon, skills, or mechanics, the community has speculated that it could bring Monster Hunter-style taming or summoning abilities into the game.
Before these major updates land, Final Fantasy 14 players can look forward to a crossover event in October 2025, when Guardian Arkveld from Monster Hunter Wilds makes its debut in Eorzea.
With new raids, jobs, and collaborations on the horizon, Dawntrail’s future looks packed. The wait for Patch 7.5 may be long, but it promises to deliver some of the expansion’s most exciting content yet.
