Upcoming Steam action RPG Daimon Blades is set to launch into Early Access on September 3, and it carries a strong “Diablo 4 in first-person” vibe. This ambitious ARPG combines the all-action demon slaying and dungeon crawling gameplay of the Diablo series with the replayability of a roguelike — all from an immersive first-person perspective.

The best indie hits on Steam often emerge from developers willing to experiment, and Daimon Blades looks to follow that path. Smaller studios can take risks larger developers avoid, and Daimon Blades aims to stand out by blending tried-and-true ARPG mechanics with roguelite systems and a fresh viewpoint.

What to Expect in Daimon Blades

Developed by Streum On Studio, Daimon Blades was only announced recently but is already gearing up for Early Access. According to its Steam page, it’s described as a “brutal first-person slasher that combines the depth of action RPGs and replayability of roguelites.”

Key features include:

  • 20 enemy families with varied attack patterns

  • 4 deadly boss encounters

  • 9 biomes with unlimited variations, ensuring unique levels each playthrough

  • Loot, crafting, and RPG progression systems

  • Four-player co-op, letting friends dive into the chaos together

A First-Person Diablo-Like Experience

On the surface, Daimon Blades shares a lot of DNA with Diablo 4. The environments and enemy designs echo the same dark fantasy aesthetic that has defined Blizzard’s ARPG franchise for decades. The big difference? Everything unfolds in first-person, making dungeon crawling and demon slaying far more visceral.

This perspective shift, combined with roguelike replayability, could give Daimon Blades a unique edge over traditional ARPGs like Diablo or Path of Exile.

Can Streum On Studio Deliver?

The developer’s last game, Necromunda: Hired Gun (2021), received mixed reviews, earning a Top Critic Average of just 58 on OpenCritic. That means Daimon Blades has plenty to prove if it wants to earn a spot among the best ARPGs on the market.

Fans won’t have to wait long to find out — Daimon Blades hits Steam Early Access on September 3, 2025. If it can successfully merge Diablo-inspired ARPG mechanics with its first-person twist, it could quickly become one of the most exciting indie releases of the year.
