Capcom has set the Dino Crisis fanbase abuzz once again, this time with the launch of a new official merchandise line in Japan. The surprise drop has many speculating that a long-awaited remake or a brand-new installment in the classic survival horror series could be on the horizon.

The merchandise line, revealed via ResetEra, features acrylic figures, keychains, desk mats, stickers, and a hoodie emblazoned with the original Dino Crisis logo. Available until September 12 through a lottery system, fans have no control over which item they’ll receive—adding an element of surprise to the nostalgia-filled collection.

This is the latest spark in a fire that has been slowly smoldering for years. Back in early 2024, Capcom ran a survey asking players which franchises they’d like to see revived. Dino Crisis ranked alongside fan-favorite series like Ace Attorney, Mega Man, and Resident Evil. With Resident Evil Requiem set for release in February 2026, attention has now shifted toward Dino Crisis as the next potential revival.

The last mainline entry, Dino Crisis 3, launched exclusively for the Xbox in 2003 but failed to capture the magic of its predecessors. Fans have long hoped for Capcom to revisit the franchise with modern graphics and gameplay—especially after the success of its Resident Evil remakes.

While series creator Shinji Mikami has previously voiced doubts—citing Monster Hunter’s dinosaur-like creatures as potential competition—fans insist Dino Crisis offers a distinctly different survival horror experience. Notably, Hideki Kamiya, director of Resident Evil 2, has expressed interest in directing a new Dino Crisis game, though he is currently committed to the upcoming Okami sequel.

Capcom has yet to confirm any plans for a Dino Crisis remake or sequel. Still, with the sudden arrival of nostalgic merchandise and renewed fan discussions, hopes are higher than ever that the dinosaurs will soon roam again.
