Life simulator InZOI has officially announced a major change to a future update, one that brings a welcome surprise for fans eagerly awaiting new content.
Originally announced as “Kucingku,” the third explorable city in the game has now been renamed to Cahaya. This new setting promises a resort-themed escape unlike anything previously seen in the game—and it might just be the spark InZOI needs to reignite its player base.
🏝️ Welcome to Cahaya: A Tropical Twist
As confirmed by game director Hungjun “Kjun” Kim via the official InZOI Discord server (as reported by PCGamesN), Cahaya will offer players a relaxing, vibrant environment designed to contrast with the hustle and bustle of previous cities.
“Cahaya is a resort-themed destination where players can enjoy some rest and relaxation,” said Kim. “Expect a variety of vibrant and refreshing experiences across exotic islands, such as farming, relaxing, boating, and exploring uninhabited islands.”
This shift hints at a significant gameplay expansion. With farming and exploration mechanics, players may soon be diving into systems that echo beloved elements from games like Stardew Valley—a move that could broaden InZOI’s appeal and deepen its sandbox potential.
📉 A Response to Player Feedback?
Since its Early Access launch in March 2025, InZOI made a strong first impression with its rich visuals and unique spin on life simulation. However, despite solid early sales and buzz, player retention has steadily declined, with many citing a lack of replayable content compared to genre staple The Sims.
The decision to not only rename but redesign the third city could be KRAFTON’s response to player demands for more interactive, meaningful gameplay loops—especially ones that go beyond traditional social simulation.
⏳ What’s Next for InZOI?
While there is no confirmed release date for the Cahaya city update, it is expected to roll out as part of a future major patch within InZOI’s Early Access roadmap. With promises of exotic island exploration and new activities, Cahaya may become a turning point for the game’s long-term appeal.
The move to rename Kucingku to Cahaya is more than cosmetic—it’s a directional shift for InZOI. By injecting new activities, environments, and a stronger lifestyle sandbox loop, KRAFTON is aiming to make InZOI not just an alternative to The Sims, but a genre challenger in its own right.
Players hungry for fresh experiences should keep their eyes on the horizon—Cahaya might be the island getaway InZOI needed to truly come alive.
